Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

2007 Porsche 911 Turbo

“If you love cars, you’re gonna love this!” – Jason Plato. Enough said? Anyway, some mind blowing figures and facts about the 997 Turbo:

  • 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 3.7 seconds (3.4 with the optional Tiptronic transmission)
  • Top speed of 193 mph (310 km/h)
  • 3.6 L flat-six turbocharged engine developing 480 PS (353 kW/473bhp) and 620 Nm (460 ft·lbff) of torque (equipped with the optional Sports Chrono package – 680 Nm)
  • AWD with PTM (Porsche Traction Management), which means greater stability and better traction on all kind of surfaces, compared to older AWD Porsche cars
  • Time of 7:38 at the famous Nordschleife track

GT3 RS vs GT3 Cup car

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

Another great review by Tiff Needell. The 911 GT3 RS is 5 seconds behind the Cup edition car, but that doesn’t make it less fun. Play the video and see for yourself.

Drifting a GT3 on a curvy mountain road

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

“Auto Motor und Sport” took a white-colored GT3 and went out into the mountains to have fun. They definitely have the balls to do some breath taking drifting on the corners.

The battle of the SUVs

Thursday, March 13th, 2008

Another nice shootout by Fifth Gear. This time it is the Cayenne GTS versus the BMW X5 4.8 V8 presented by Vicki Butler-Henderson. Good news is that the GTS sets a better lap time by finishing nearly 2 seconds ahead of the BMW.

Cayman S review by Motorvision

Saturday, February 9th, 2008

The nimble sportscar by Porsche is being driven by Tim Schrick for the German tv show Motorvision. The Cayman, compared to its Japanese rival – the Nissan 350Z, gives better times at the following: braking, slalom and handling. You can see it almost jumping from corner to corner at the end of the video on the handling track.

Tuesday, December 25th, 2007

What is better than riding a 911 Carrera on the snowy German track? Merry Christmas to everyone and be careful out there in the snow!

Porsche 550 Spyder driven

Friday, December 14th, 2007

A little bit of a Porsche history lesson. The 550 Spyder, also called RS, is the first true Porsche car made exclusively for racing.

Carrera GT reviewed by Top Gear

Thursday, December 13th, 2007

Jeremy Clarkson sits behind the wheel of the 5.7-litre V10 monster. What has he got to say? “I’ve never had a feeling like this before, I have never felt anything like that.”

The mighty Carrera GT sets a new lap record by beating the Mercedes SLR McLaren by a second. Enjoy and turn up the volume!
